(Proverbs 1:8) Father, thank You for my mother’s instruction, even when I did not want to follow it. Through Your wisdom and guidance, my mother, ___, knew what I needed and what was best for me even when I did not. Thank You that she trusted You enough to guide me through every life lesson. Although it pained her to see me learn lessons the hard way in the short-term, thank You for giving her the strength and discipline to focus on the long-term. Her life has been a beautiful example to me of running the race with endurance, as Your word says in Hebrews 12:1. I’m grateful for her faithfulness to continue following You and giving me instruction as the Holy Spirit directs her. I am who I am today because of her partnership with You. Thank You for choosing her to be my mother and placing everything in her that I needed. Help me to never forget my mother’s instructions and grant me the same strength to pass them along to my children. Amen.
