(Philippians 1:3-5) Maybe these are commonly overlooked verses in Paul’s letter to the Church in Philippi, but we can find great joy in them, Lord. I love the idea of Paul looking back on his time with the Philippians with fondness—being so filled with joy that he can’t help but “thank my God every time I remember you.” That’s my prayer today for ___, Father. In this final year of high school, I ask You to fill ___’s time with memories like this—joyful, hopeful, meaningful memories that will stick with ___ well into their college years and beyond. As a senior, ___ may be tempted to fall captive to the “senior slide” or “doing whatever they want” because it’s their last year, but God, I ask You to protect them from those things. Instead, replace those desires in ___ with Your wisdom and discernment. Through Your Holy Spirit, equip ___ to find creative ways to make meaningful memories while still loving and serving others, while still following in Your purpose for their life. May ___ not look back on this last year with any regrets, but with gratitude, thanking You every time they remember it. Amen.
