(James 1:5) Lord, in Your infinite wisdom and grace, You don’t make life as Your children too complicated. Yes, You ask for our commitment, devotion, and trust, but You don’t require superior talent, intellect, or knowledge in order to follow You. Instead, in Your goodness, You freely offer those good things to all of Your children. Instead of asking it of us, You give it to us. In our weakness, Your goodness and strength shines all the more. In our brokenness, we are made perfect through Your Holy Spirit. One of those gifts You freely offer, as James talks about, is wisdom. As James said, “if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it!” So, Father, today, I ask You for wisdom—not just for myself, but also for ___ as they enter this new stage of following You. As ___ navigates this new life, gaining new perspectives on their work, relationships, and identity, I ask You to grant them wisdom in all of their day-to-day decision-making. Lord, fill ___’s heart and mind with the wisdom, discernment, and guidance that’s only found through Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your good gifts, Father. Amen.
