(2 Timothy 2:3-5) Lord, when ___ was called into active duty, they had to make a commitment. They had to separate themselves from their home, their family, and their friends for the sake of their country, for the sake of “the one who chose them.” In the same way, Father, You call all of us—___ included—to “overcome every form of evil as a victorious soldier of Jesus the Anointed One.” Although those of us at home might not be in the physical battle with ___, we still fight alongside them, every day, in the spiritual battle to which You call all those who choose to follow You. In light of that, Father, I ask You to protect ___ from evil. Like Jesus told His disciples to pray, “lead ___ not into temptation, but deliver them from evil.” Through Your Holy Spirit, God, empower ___ to overcome every attack from the Enemy, especially as they’re currently without the physical presence of their friends, family, and community. ___ is a soldier for their country, yes—and a brave, courageous one, at that—but they are also a victorious soldier of Jesus. Establish that identity within ___, Father, and give them confidence to walk in it every day. Amen.
