(Luke 15:20) Father, I can’t help but get emotional thinking about this parable You told in Luke 15. Thinking about how often my life parallels that of the “Prodigal Son,” I am overwhelmed knowing that You have welcomed me back into Your arms, into Your family, with “tender love” and “great compassion.” You are a Good Father, Yahweh. Thank You for loving us. Lord, I’m also filled with joy and hope thinking about Your servant, ___, and their choice to run back to You. Thank You, Father, for working in ___’s life in such a way that compelled them to “set off for home.” Thank You for always loving ___, for always being with them, and for always waiting to welcome them back into Your family. Father, in light of ___’s decision to return to You, I ask You to give them the great welcome the father in this parable gave his prodigal son. Run out to ___. Sweep them up in Your arms and hug them dearly. Restore ___’s place within Your family. Through Your Holy Spirit, fill ___ to the brim with Your never-ending, all-consuming grace and love. Amen.
